On Friday afternoon, Republican Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul was attacked by his neighbor Dr. Rene Boucher. Boucher attacked Paul while he was mowing his lawn. Sen. Paul has suffered some major injuries. He has six broken ribs and a pleural effusion, the build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs. These are very serious injuries and can be lethal if not treated properly. Sen. Paul had commented that the attack had seemingly come out of nowhere.

The mainstream media outlets have largely ignored the junior senator’s attack or they misrepresented as a “neighbor feud”. How many people almost beat their neighbors to death over what the media reports were lawn care issues?

Who is Dr. Rene Boucher, the neighbor who brutally attacked Sen. Paul?

Boucher is an anesthesiologist and has been Paul’s neighbor for nearly 20 years. He has worked with Paul before professionally during clinics and other related medical events. Some media outlets have hinted toward Boucher being an ardent socialist and a registered Democrat who has been arguing with the Senator for years over health care and other important issues. That information has not been verified by any outlets, it’s just speculation by the Senator’s friends and party colleagues.

Was the attack politically motivated, or was it a lawn care issue like the other media outlets have reported?

As stated before, Dr. Boucher’s political views have not been verified. A friend of Sen. Paul has made a comment stating that the Senator’s lawn was in perfect condition and [he] was jealous about how well taken care of the lawn was. But that begs the question — Why on earth would someone almost beat a sitting US Senator to death over lawn care? The question answers itself, nobody would. It does seem politically motivated at first look, but I am not from Kentucky and for all I know Kentuckians are really passionate about their lawn care.

Why is the media actively ignoring this?

If this attack was politically motivated and Dr. Boucher was a registered Democrat then the Democratic party would have seriously bad press once again. Something is fishy about the situation here — A sitting US Senator who has moderate views is attacked and the story only gets seconds of coverage on national television? The media needs to get their priorities straight or outlets like us, RATIONAL PRESS, will start to replace them.

As a supporter of the Senator from Kentucky, I truly hope he is able to make a full recovery.
